Meet Dr. Walker
Jessica A Walker, PhD, CCC-SLP
Hi there! My name is Jessie and I am a clinical speech-language pathologist who provides individual assessment and treatment services for children, teens, and adults with communication needs.
Before starting my private practice, I worked in the university setting for over a decade conducting research, teaching coursework, and building clinical programs for adolescents and adults with neurological disorders. I have always strived to be a constant learner and to support my broader professional community. Because of that, I have published over 45 peer reviewed papers and provided over 140 professional development presentations nationally.
My philosophy for service delivery is to provide services that mimic natural, contextualized environments as much as possible. I believe that the most growth in communication will occur when we practice and support people in the situations that they will be expected to communicate. By serving as a coach and mentor, I work to promote independence and functional skills that will translate across a variety of communication partners and environments.
I currently live in Delaware, Ohio with my husband and two young children. In my spare time, I also works as a school-based speech-language pathologist.
